At Wellness & Vitality Chiropractic, we take great pride in providing the finest chiropractic wellness care to our patients. Below is a sample of the different chiropractic services we offer in our Banbury office.

Chiropractic Care

We provide a variety of different techniques depending on your unique presentation and any other underlying or complicating factors that we may uncover following a thorough history and examination. All of our Chiropractors are skilled in determining the best choice of technique for each individual. Techniques we routinely use are Diversified, Gonstead, SOT (including cranial work), Activator, Drop-Piece, Toggle Recoil, and Logan Basic.

Supportive Exercises

Movement is life and this is the very basis of why Chiropractic is so effective in not only reducing pain, but in improving your overall function. Consequently we will often recommend exercises to help change some of the deep seated and longstanding patterns that you will have developed. Research supports the theory that if you want to “re-programme” yourself exercise is best done little and often. To this end we will usually recommend very short bursts of specific exercises that target the areas that we deem important for overall change. Sometimes these may seem slightly unusual but they are always given with your overall health and function in mind.

Lifestyle Advice

We often find it helpful to “coach” our patients about certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a fulfilling and happy lifestyle full of the activities they most enjoy. We regard every patient as a whole person and we recognise that true health and wellness requires collaboration between ourselves and our patients.

Nutritional Counseling

Your body requires a constant supply of good macro and micronutrients in order to fuel and repair well. It simply cannot be healthy if you fuel it incorrectly. We can offer advice on good and sensible food choices. There are a few supplements we routinely recommend, as they are vital to repair and improving health. Should your issues be more complicated and multilayered we may refer you for blood tests to measure what foods your body reacts to.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy offers a natural conservative treatment approach that relieves musculoskeletal pain for many patients. Our practice provides specific massage and muscular therapy tailored to meet the patient’s condition and injury. The benefits of massage therapy may include increasing blood circulation, reducing swelling, relaxing muscles, relieving muscle pain and spasms, plus helping the recovery and range of motion of joints.

Functional Foot Assessments (AiM)

The feet are so often overlooked in their influence and contribution to how we move and the pains we may feel elsewhere. We pay them so little attention and lock them away – never to be seen. With the use of an electronic balance plate we can assess how you stand and where you take your weight. Using this information helps us to understand why your posture may have changed and how it may influence other areas. We use specific co-ordinated movements to help re-programme your brain so you can work better and feel better.

We are fortunate to have onsite X-ray facilities for your convenience. This allows us to be more thorough in our examination and to see more clearly the state of health of your spine in order that we are able to tailor your treatment and be confident in our safety. It also means we may refer you for more appropriate treatment should we think it is required.

SD Protocol

All of our Chiropractors are certified SD Protocol practitioners. Through your history we are able to determine if you are stuck in “fight – flight” mode, thus inhibiting your “rest and digest”. This has enormous implications on our overall health. But balance can be restored if the protocol is adhered to. Many practitioners of various disciplines know of aspects of this protocol but only SD Protocol practitioners understand all the contributing factors and how they connect in the nervous system; but more importantly how best to effect change.
